Unfortunately, this year’s watchmaking mastership has been deeply affected by the corona crisis.

Despite the cancellation of traditional events in Geneva (SIHH) and Basel (Watches & Wonders), the prestigious watch manufactories presented the news at least online. Here are some of them.

A Classic for Both Men and Women

The iconic Hampton collection by Baume & Mercier is inspired by Art Déco. Designed for both men and women, they feature a characteristic square design, paying homage to the world-famous architecture of the 1920s. However, the lines of Hampton watches have got a touch of the present in addition to the unique right angles they emphasize the beauty of the light that slides on their sleek surface. The shiny stainless steel case is available in three sizes.

here are no compromises for Haute Horlogerie. This is a rule for Roger Dubuis, whose creations take a breath away from people who prefer the unconventional style. Meet the latest model Excalibur Diabolus in Machina, which is bound to win with their idea that life must be lived intensely, passionately, and perhaps with excesses. A matter of course for the watch is a mechanical movement with a royal watch complication, the so-called flying tourbillon, while an interesting innovation is the “minute repeater” system.

For Diving Lovers

Exactly 70 years after introducing the use of a tritium-based luminescent substance in a watch called Luminor to produce natural light, Panerai has introduced six highly innovative Luminor Marina models. They combine an exceptional balance of high-tech materials and a sporty look. Originally an Italian brand, today based in Neuchatel, Switzerland,  used to be mainly supplied to the Italian navy. The new models also achieve top technical parameters suitable for divers, for example, they are water-resistant to a depth of 300 meters.
