The vast majority of Slovaks enjoy coffee, especially at one particular part of the day, as shown by the latest survey on the consumption of this stimulating drink. Excellent coffee at a bargain price is TIRA, the brand, which brings selected coffee beans and balanced blends.

In Slovakia, there are great coffee lovers – according to a survey*, up to 85% of people drink coffee. The most popular is ground bean coffee, either Turkish or from the machine, which is preferred by more than half of Slovaks (52%). “Instant coffee, which less than a quarter of people indulge in, is also popular. On the contrary, coffee from capsules (8%) or other types of coffee, such as cereals, dandelion, or chicory, are less liked. They are drunk by only two people out of a hundred. Coffee is not consumed by more than a tenth of Slovaks (15%),” explained Marek Kravjar, spokesman for BILLA Slovensko.

While older middle-aged people (45-64 years) are more likely to like ground beans, those aged 35 to 44 are more likely to enjoy instant coffee. The younger generation (25-34 years) mainly drinks coffee from capsules, but young adults (from 18 to 24 years) do not like coffee very much – more than a third (39%) of them do not drink it.

And what time of the day do we enjoy coffee most? The survey shows that in the morning after waking up, at breakfast, which applies to more than two-fifths of men (44%) and about half of women (52%). However, we can also enjoy a sip of coffee in the late hours. “More than a fifth of people drink coffee in the morning, after lunch, or in the afternoon. Approximately one in 10 people does not look at their watches and indulges in this drink at any time of the day. In the evening, however, only a small part of Slovaks search for it (3%), ” adds Marek Kravjar.
