An Oasis for Nature

The five-star Dusai Resort & Spa is set in the picturesque nature of the Moulvi Bazar district of north-eastern Bangladesh.

The complex, which was named the best luxury resort in Asia in 2016, is located in a peaceful place among the trees near hills covered in tea plantations. It emanates the tranquillity of a traditional village. The trees determine the locations of cottages, so that the surrounding nature remains untouched. The resort presents a hybrid building system of traditional bungalows and standard concrete constructions. The buildings sit on concrete frames anchored to the ground, which lift them above ground and enable the beautiful and thick vegetation to be preserved. Traditional verified technologies and local materials were used for the project.

In the Labyrinth

The resort includes a residential complex, a restaurant, a swimming pool, a spa, a conference room and internal and external equipment for games. The residential complex consists of the main hotel block and of individual cottages. The cottages for families with children are arranged around a yard; the cottages for pair are located in an area offering more privacy.

Unpretentious luxury predominates in the interior.

The view from reception to the cottages gives the impression of a labyrinth. After arrival to the resort, guests begin their trip with a walk along the vaulted path among the hills to reach their goal and enjoy the surrounding nature. The internal paths and pavements are in a loop enabling passage around the entire area in circular movements. The reception area is located immediately at the start of the pavement, which leads to the zone of the main hotel and bungalows for families together with sporting grounds and pools. The restaurant follows, with a view over the golf course, and the path then leads to the spa facilities and the private zone, consisting of exclusive guest cottages at the end of the complex.

Domination of Nature

The aesthetics of the resort try to emphasize nature before the buildings. Rooms with large glass doors invite the natural world to come inside and allow guests to enjoy beautiful and uninterrupted views of the surroundings from their cottages.

The creators from the renowned architectural studio VITTI Sthapati Brindo Ltd. from the start of this project respected the natural layout of the land and adapted the buildings to it. Nature directed the overall planning of the project. All rooms have a natural atmosphere and open into the surrounding wilds with a barrier-free view. Respecting the specifics of the given locality enabled the creation of a unique complex in this region, where nature is the one dominant force.
