The Honda HR-V is a small crossover by Japanese car manufacturer, which is a clear answer to the fashion trends. It has enormous competition in Europe but with its generous space, perfectly elaborated details and technical solutions, Honda is the ideal and trouble-free car for everyday life.
The second episode of Honda HR-V is a nice surprise. The light compact vehicle, which is 4294 mm long and has an appealing design, combines the designs of the coupe models, SUVs safety and attractiveness and practical use of MPV. It’s tailored according to the latest fashion, a little higher, with somewhat larger wheels, sills and fenders decorated with plastic. In addition, the Honda HR-V is a good example of the perfect use of space.
Sophistically refined and elaborated use of the interior space is also enhanced by traditional Magic Seats, known from other Honda models. These are tilt rear seats, where the objects 128 cm tall can be put instead. It is possible thanks to the fuel tank, which is replaced from its typical position under the front seats. The standard volume of the luggage compartment is 448 to 470 liters, where the length of the luggage compartment is 845 mm and the loading height is 650 mm. The only weakness of the Honda HR-V was its inconspicuousness. It didn’t have any technical problems, so it was never on the first pages of the motor vehicles tabloid magazines.
The slight facelift brought more chrome to the radiator mask; the new headlights and bumper revived the face of the Japanese crossover.
Practical and Reliable
In the flood of three-cylinders, a classical four-cylinder engine is rare and shows that many competing solutions are grateful for the existence of a lab measurement of consumption rather than a real life one. The gasoline 1.5 i-VTEC engine has atmospheric suction, direct injection of gasoline and variable timing as well as lift of intake valves. The power of 130 hp (96 kW) and maximum torque of 155 Nm allow a maximum speed of 192 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds. The advantage of this engine is a wide range of functional revolutions. Whoever desires a dynamic ride, the engine satisfies them with an instant response to the accelerator pedal and viability at higher revs. On the contrary, the economical drive, mostly at constant speed, doesn’t complicate the obstacle in the exhaust, which we call the turbo. All solutions have advantages and disadvantages, but the atmospheric engine is still a good solution for everyday driving. However, the Honda HR-V will soon be available on the market with a more powerful four-cylinder turbo, which is also in the Civic model. The Honda HR-V is a responsibly designed car that offers above average interior space. It is a practical, elegant and economical, reliable engine.
